forking a sync demon should work ok, even memory protection should make no
problems, as the memory is then shared between the xfs and the demon.
Even the problems with GEM should not be too hard, as mint makes task switches
also on system calls, so when GEM or a GEM program is calling gemdos, there
should be the possibility of letting the demon run. But of course such a DA
would be best.
I can post such a thing here (or to the public) if there is interest; it is
written in assembler, so it uses much less memory than a C implementation.
