Minix FS, mounting

Question:

I've mounted a Minix partition onto another one:

mount j:\mounted k:

Everything on j:\ and in j:\mounted is fine, but *why* do I see the
same files on k:\? (k:\ and j:\ display the same file tree and have
the same st_dev).
