The work you are going to do has already been done. Get the program 'chat'
from the ppp-212.tgz archive.

Use the program 'stty'. There are two versions, the old BSD-like from the
MintUtils and the one from GNU shellutils.

For the first you have to say:
	stty 19200 < /dev/modem1

for the second:
	stty speed 19200 < /dev/modem1

To set modem1's speed to 19200.
