p> Try installing Chimera, this way you will get the MiNTOS setup the way it
p> is supposed to be. Then change MINT.CNF to MINT.CN. Then create a new
 p> MINT.CNF that indicates INIT=path of XaAES.

Been there, did that, and while it sort of works, I got similar problems
under X11. I just switched from the TAF distribution to FreeMiNT 1.12.5, and
actually it is somewhat better, but still doesn't work properly and I can't
launch any programs under XaAES. %^(

p> This is how it is working on my MegaSTe 4. Somebody should come up with
p> an installation program for setting up MiNTOS/Chimera/X-Windows and XaAES
p> with a chooser program that allows you do choose if you wish to run
p> X/XaAES/SingleTOS/or a MiNTOS shell such as TSCH.

That's for sure! Actually, if you can get the settings in MINT.CNF correct,
MouseBoot will allow multiple MINT configs.

Here's my current MINT.CNF - can you see anything wrong with it?
