PLIP is part of the MiNTnet distribution. It is an interface file for
MiNTnet, thus called plip.xif. So look for net-090.* on the net.

What for ? Why not use the serial port for the telephone line ? You won't
need all the parallel to serial converting hardware. Concerning Ethernet :
There are a few adapters around, even selfbuild ones (those fit a PC
Ethernet card to the ST), but I haven't got much information on them.

According to the MiNTnet docs the parallel version is significantly
faster than the serial version, even if the latter is working with high
baudrate. Don't have any own experience.

Sure. Using MiNTnet you can even set up a complete NFS system. A simple
print server should be easy.
