|3/ Can I run X11 programs without the server ?
|   something like xterm -display 192.168.1.1:0.0 to start program on a Xterm
|   (like eXodus or MacX), without having the X server running on (Mac)MiNT ?

Of course you can do that!!
All you need is to have the rights to open a session on the Xserver
(xauth, xhost..)..
You can set en evironment variable DISPLAY to 192.168.1.1:0 instead!
