Actually, for me, FTP is no longer an issue. AFTP works well and
handles piping through AV_SERVER (Thing) to unpack if/when needed.
However, I *do* encounter a few gopher links here and then, so...

Still, if you ever *do* get around recoding FTP, I'd really like 
it to work like Netscape does:    

   read the index0 file and display it like a normal html page with
   file descriptions (taken from the the index), and highlight the
   filename as a download link.
