fsck, hs-modem, mintnet problems

I've just installed KGMD on my new Stacy (TOS 2.06, 4 Mb, 25 MHz)
and ran into several problems:

1) fsck:  I persistently get broken Inode and Zone Bitmaps.
          fsck cannot seem to fix them. I have tried zeroing
          the partition and reinstalling KGMD. Still no good.
          
2) HS-modem:  if Midi.PRG is installed, Mintnet cannot load
              its interfaces and the bootup freezes.
              Removing it cures the problem, but then no BIOS
              entry will be found for Midi...
              
              I *DO* run RSVX before MiNT and within Mint.CNF.
              
Can anyone help?

PS:  could Kay look into adding IP masquerading to MiNTnet?
     It's badly needed by several of us...

PS/2:  both Midi.PRG and fsck work fine on my TT; 
       only the Stacy is a problem
