You're getting what you call flames, because you seem to come from the
external world knowing a little about MiNT internals and, much more
important, about main problems we are dealing with now and we are
discussing now. The most annoying problem with MiNT is now its memory
management subsystem, apparently too poor for modern requirements,
including paging, memory protection and virtual memory. Comparing
to that, the AUTO folder sorting problem, which dominated the main stream
of MiNT list traffic last days, is really small and a bloody hell less
important than the thing I mentioned above. Apparently people, who refuse
to agree immediately with you, that MiNT has to be modified the way you're
proposing, have no problems or almost no problems with that, but at the
other hand they know/realize/think, that this may ruin compatibility
between MiNT and some/most existing TSR programs they use. At least, they
may have some experience with MiNT, because this is the system they keep
using. Right?

PS. latest MiNT source tree is at ftp.funet.fi and piwo.bl.pg.gda.pl (at
least, that is) in appropriate directories. But it would be better that
you would send the code you've proposed to me, to include it for test
purposes to MiNT 1.14.7.
