4 good sites for GNU as well as pure MiNT stuff:

ftp.funet.fi/pub/atari/mint piwo.bl.pg.gda.pl/pub/atari/mint

ftp.fu-berlin/pub/atari/mint ftp.tu-berlin/pub/atari/mint

Actually, it might be a good idea to detract from this:

The current problem with KGMD is, let's say you only install
the Basic package but want to add Networking or Manual later.
You cannot... the installer is a one-shot deal.

What would be best is, separate packages compilled and archived
to follow the YesCrew upgrade kit:

put the archive into the root system drive (the one with all the
hardlinks declared in mint.cnf) and as you unpack the archive, it
magically installs itself into all the right flesystem hierarchy.

In my case, the main filesystem is installed on E: so this is where
I put stuff designed to unpack following the filesystem hierarchy.

I'm not sure how big of a package you have in mind, but support
for 68000 machines is somewhat hampered by the lack of memory
protection and CPU functions only found since 68020.

IMHO, the only MiNT package we can honestly provide to ST users
is a limited bundle similar to what my QEMD-ST includes. Anything
more would likely be unusable on an ST, because of speed and CPU
functions not being up to par anymore.

Several ideas discussed over the last few months DO involve moving
stuff around the filesystem hierarchy. Pretty much everyone agreed
we should upgrade MiNT to follow FHS recommendations, since both the
Linux and BSD crowd are moving into that direction too.

It would also make a few things easier when porting GNU stuff.

..just my 2 cents, as usual! ;-)
