Making a backup...

Just today, Diamond Edge seriously messed a TOS partition, so I
am considering repartitioning my hard disk, since the stuff on 
that partition is about 60% of my usefull data.

However, how do I make an integral backup of my Unix filesystem
(Minix fs), without having to re-establish all file permissions 
or symlinks, when reinstalling?

Alternately, see my previous post about partition splitters, if 
you have a solution that would allow me to repartition my TOS 
drives only, but leave the Minix ones untouched.
