No, that's not clear. It may just be difficult to delete them, but I think
TOS should handle that fine internally.
Creating 'this is a long name' under TOS should not cause trouble - however,
trying to create 'archive.tar.gz' might fail, and so I guess it would indeed
be a good idea to turn that into a valid name, if it only happens on 8+3
filesystems.
