I have lately removed the 2 MB ST-RAM board from my TT to enable the
CaTTamaran accelerator to be used, so I now have only 2 MB of ST-RAM
instead of 4 MB. This means that I need to economise on ST-RAM usage.
I observed that each program which is loaded, even if it is configured to
load into TT-RAM, still uses up several Kbytes of ST-RAM. And although I
have not tracked it down yet to an individual program, it seems that from
the time when init is started to when the login prompt appears, about 300K
of ST-RAM gets used up. Yet I cannot find any programs that are configured
to load in ST-RAM.
Any ideas about what might be happening there?
(I have memory protection disabled again, if that makes any difference, I
will talk about that further in another email.)
