  Hi Joerg! Well, I'm not sure if I understand what you mean. Keep in mind
  that you are talking to a MiNT "semi-newbie". <grin> Anyways, this is what
  I'm currently using-this line in my bash_login file in /home/root:

  alias gem='n_aes030.sys'

  I was using this line in /etc/passwd:

  gem::0:0:The aes:/home/root:/c/n_aes/n_aes030.sys

  but decided for security reasons to launch my GUI from a command prompt. ;-)

  So do you mean launch (run statement) N.aes from C:\MULTITOS\MINT.CNF, then
  use N.aes to launch Thing? Hmm...so what would be the advantage in doing
  it that way? Thanks, and sorry if I've misunderstood you...

  See ya! ;-)
