Actually, just checking which version of GEMDOS is present should
be enough to make it transparent:  

The Compendium's tells in Tsetdate() references that GEMDOS 0.13
did not update the BIOS, therefore neither the IKBD nor the RTC.

GEMDOS 0.13 usually corresponds to TOS 1.0 or 1.02, if I recall.
