Slight misunderstanding about what port is driven by what chip.
Here's how the TT is setup:

MFP:  Modem1, Serial1
SCC:  Modem2, Serial2/LAN

Therefore, installing MFP.XDD should not affect Modem2. If it
does, something is wrong in the driver's code or in your config.
