If an SLB with the new flag is used with a system not supporting it, there will be no problem (unless the system checks the flag and refuses to load the SLB). As the flagged SLBs do _not_ need the address of the basepage of the calling process, but are to ignore the value passed as the first parameter to each function, they will happily work with a system that does send the basepage address. Vice versa, an old SLB without the flag will still work with operating systems supporting the new flag. So I really don't see why any user should even need to know about the difference.
