Same question.

I once managed to get the very first beta working with one of the
sample clients, but now I forgot how I did it.

Another thing is, every time I start a client, TosWinII wants to
open a window, thinking that a TOS program was just started.

To answer the obvious, I use the latest sockdev 1.05 beta and
latest x.app also, and my MiNT.CNF defines the display as the
port's homepage instructs, so it cannot be that.
