[MiNT] Strange FreeMiNT behavior

I'm using latest 1.16 kernels (from CVS), and I'm using recent
Sparemint packages.

I'm experiencig some strange behavior:

1) When running e2fsck on partition G: (it is my main filesystem
patrition with etc, boot, lib, bic, usr) I have following message:

e2fsck 1.19, 13-Jul-2000 for EXT2 FS 0.5b, 95/08/09
Can't lock partition G:!
e2fsck: Permission denied while trying to open g:
You must have r/w access to the filesystem or be
root

AND I`M SURE I`M ROOT!

e2fsck works ok when running at startup

2) Similar thing like 1) - my bash prompt looks like:

root@falcon/$

Even if I'm logged as ROOT!

My PS1 varible looks like this: PS1="\u@\H\w\$"
