[MiNT] line-endings and MiNT-Lib?

(I searched the mailing-list but could not find any answer to this[*]: )

Why on earth does Patrice Mandin's patch[**] allowing correct line endings to
be produced under TOS, MagiC (and even perhaps MiNT consoles) has not been
applied yet (and so included in public releases since 0.57.1)?

Is there any technical reason?
Does anyone feel concerned about this problem?
I certainly do as this very bug prevents any release of software that could be
usable with all "Atari operating systems" other thant MiNT.
(And BTW s/\\n/\\r\\n/g does not sound reasonable in terms of portability to
me!)

Thanks for all input
   Guillaume

[*]: I searched with Google, which seems not to mirror the lastest/all the
messages: is there a long delay?
Could the mailing-list archives be made searchable easily?
And what happened to the SpareMiNT "Agora" BTW?
