No, just keep binutils 2.13.2.1 from Sparemint.

And I tried to tweek them a bit to accomodate with binutils 2.14, but a
huge problem arose: binutils 2.14 don't support m68k aout correctly. Maybe
there will be bugfixes for it soon. The maintainers would like people to
adopt m68k elf instead; and it is very easy to add it to binutils (I
tried), keeping m68k-aout-mint target for old stuff. Add a loader for it
in MiNT, and it's done.
