This is a known 'trick' but unfortunately the blitter is used sometime
even if NVDI was started. Dunno what application does it, perhaps the
TOS.

ah right, that's what the MC68040 toolkit does on AB40.

I hate the blitter. I have been fighting with it for many years on my
Falcon and now it strikes back on ARAnyM and that's only because TOS
hasn't been superseded by EmuTOS yet.
