Hello!

MiNT is special: It's GEMDOS implementation relies on it's own "kernelmodules" (?) and avoids as much as possible the (X)BIOS stuff.

But that's because the (X)BIOS layer is not powerful enough for FreeMiNT.The FreeMiNT device driver interface is the replacement of the (X)BIOSlayer.
