Hello!
2. xaaes under normal user (not root): i see message /dev/km doesn't exist, update kernel and i see that file is there. if i understood correctly, xaaes should be loadable at user level (in compare against n_aes)
No, a kernel module is only loadable by root. But the loader should be running as setuid and the kernel module should alter the privileges of newly created AES processes to the privileges the loader had (this is on the todo).
3. gem shutdown by draco: not sure if it's bug of shutdown or xaaes, but when i choose shutdown (warm, cold, halt), jinnee doesn't save its settings (i set "save on exit" option or so). under n_aes it works ok, i choose shutdown, jinnee save jinnee.inf in home dir
Under XaAES it's only recommended to use the builtin shutdown services.
anyone with similar experiences?
