Really?  That's always worked perfectly for me, in fact I have 2 aranym 
"build farm" machines that can only be accessed via ssh.  Does your 
aranym network work at all?  If it does you should be able to ssh to 
192.168.0.2 if you have default setup.  If your LOCAL network uses 
192.168.0.0/24 it'll probabyl conflict and never work - that could be 
your prob.
