I don't get why any XaAES should/shouldn't be functioning on ARAnyM.
Didn't you rather mean a particular FreeMiNT kernel? Or is it related to
fVDI perhaps? Surely not to ARAnyM as that's a virtual hardware and
XaAES is not touching hardware at all, I hope.

Does it sound like you want to fork the XaAES development from old aged

Yes, you can always roll back on the CVS, the cvs update has a date
option.
