It's not broken, and I don't know anything about LZH-Shell.  It's badly

In the palette? That is not good. My method is to save the color , change
it to R, G, or B , plot it, then restore that color pen back to the way it
was. I make no assumptions about the contents of the palette, so no chance
of error.

Yes, that would be the correct way of doing it.

Btw. has anybody seen this problem on anything else than fVDI? I used fVDI on my Falcon for some years before I got the Milan, and IIRC there was an issue with the pixel format. Atleast with the Rage-driver the format of the pixels returned by fVDI was different from the actual screen layout. I don't remember any details about this though.
