Re: [MiNT] Daily freemint kernel builds
Hi,
i installed the helmut-28012010 build, here's a little list of issues i
found; some of them was posted before.
(Falcon/CT60, Eiffel, NVDI, 736x544/256 colors with CentScreen):
-The "infinite key-repeat" bug (Eiffel) is still there, sometimes the
keyboard simply stops working (no key is accepted).
-Taskmanager: The little "load-window" in the top left corner don't look
very nice (IMO it's not really useful anyway).
-Taskbar: The topmost submenu ("folders") is opened directly when clicking
on start button.
-Bash: When i open a shell in toswin2, a line
"id: cannot find name for group ID 121" (various IDs) is displayed before
"user@host:/..." appears. In taskmanager i saw that this group id is from
BUBBLEGEM.
-XaAES/xa_boot.log: Now the resource of EVERY started program is logged in
the file:
---snip---
Launch shell 'c:\mint\1-17-cur\teradesk\desktop.prg' with args 'No args'
LoadResources:c:\mint\1-17-cur\teradesk\desktop.rsc: size: (32922,32922)
LoadResources:u:\opt\toswin2\toswin2.rsc: size: (13828,13828)
LoadResources:c:\mint\1-17-cur\teradesk\cicons.rsc: size: (106734,106734)
LoadResources:c:\mint\start\taskbar.rsc: size: (10498,10498)
LoadResources:c:\mint\start\icons.rsc: size: (91170,91170)
LoadResources:f:\HW_Test\highwire.rsc: size: (8124,8124)
LoadResources:G:\softs\qed\qed.rsc: size: (34078,34078)
LoadResources:G:\softs\mymail\mymail.rsc: size: (235526,235526)
---snip---
The following ones happen with 1.16.3, too:
-Fileselector: Files with two points in name (e.g. xxx.tar.bz2) are not
displayed if filemask ".bz2" is set in fileselector.
An open fileselector blocks my internet-radio stream (FalcAmp). Is this
a problem with MinT (XaAES) or FalcAmp?
-bash/ftp: Up/Download speed >= 100kB/sec is displayed like this:
"11673169 bytes received in 29.7 secs (3.8e+02 Kbytes/sec)"
Sure the last one is caused by sparemint/ftp-client and not related to
Helmut's build.
The window submenu "windows" (rightclick on closer) looks much better now!
I really hope that you can fix this eiffel-bug.
Thank you,
Lars
