Normally yes but it also matters which has had the most changes
since the fork.

If the trunk has had fewer changes then it might be easier to
merge trunk into Helmut version.

However, it would be more difficult to review the changes.

The best place to start might be if Helmut can post up those
changes to the kernel and XaAES that are not dependent on each
other since these can be added to the trunk in any order.

I don't envy anyone merging these changes.
