Sky's the limit. Ok, not exactly sky but there's about ~400 KB free
without PCI part in CT60 TOS.

Yes, this is my plan -- to make updating (esp. in case of some hard
crash / corruption) as easy as possible, i.e. PC-compatible
FAT16/FAT32 partition detection on SD card, looking for ct60tos.bin in
its root and update it. This could eliminate a lot of stupid problems
like "I blew up my HDD and can't find NVDI/HD Driver for reinstall" or
"TOS is unable to boot because of early crash". This update part would
be done as soon as memory configuration is set, i.e. before video, PCI
and generally any other HW initialization (i.e. parts which might be
source of that crash). And it would make CT60 TOS/PCI development much
easier :)

Or better said, this was my plan before Didier took me down with his
"This is my project, sources will be available when I decide, period."
approach.
