That's still wrong. As far as I remember xaloader and all xaaes-threads  
should have their own unique pgrp, while mint has pgrp 0. Did you try with  
xaaes started from mint.cnf? Could you post a snapshot of the taskmanager?

Surely some change in some fs-related stuff causes this.
