A more permanent solution would be the trick here, either a script
that can be run that names everything, or a sropdown selection list on
the sparemint download site. Either of these may be evaluated during
this RC, as long as they can produce the same outcome

There are many ways to run MiNT on different systems, and at least 2
standard ways on Aranym (AFROS + EasyMiNT)

by combining the above with default mint.cnf & xaaes.cnf, you should
easily be ably to get something that only needs minor .cnf tweaks

This could also cater for version upgrades & cvs builds (-cur)

This should not affect the downloads from FreeMiNT.org, (or use of
.tar.bz), but could be added to the sparemint site in such a way that
even HW can get the correct .zip for the system chosen, allowing wget
to also get the same result:
ie
freemint-download.php?format=zip&machine=falcon&cpu=030&distro=easymint
freemint-download.php?format=zip&machine=aranym&cpu=040&distro=afros
freemint-download.php?format=bz2&machine=hades&cpu=060&distro=gentoomint
etc
as long as a shell script could also produce (and/or wget) the right/same result

The bonus of these would also allow DL numbers/stats to be gathers (I
for one would like to know)

Again, tho, this should not affect the DL from FreeMiNT.org, but the
scripts applied to the unarchived files

In the meantime It would be worth it for Miro's full answer in the
wiki (if this has not already been done), along with the same for an
AFROS setup (or non Sparemint/EasyMiNT)
