under MiNT you can use MyAES to get a background picture, one that
works if TeraDesk is set to white, no pattern.

You should use the latest Teradesk binary for this, as it has extra
settings to cater for different menu bar types (desktop x & y
offsets), which are useful for XaAES as well

Email me directly if you want either, as far as I know you cannot
download the latest version of either (yet, maybe soon), but I do have
them.
