as long as there is a simple way to get the docs back out of wiki then
this will not be a problem

unfortunately, right at this moment there is not, and the docs MUST be
made available offline

a wiki-->udo and udo-->wiki tool would be ideal

but this also does not change the fact that an overview needs to be
found within one click from the front page

re: XaAES a person needs to know how and where to install it in 2
paragraphs or less (quick guide), how and where to add textures, and
short description of .cnf  (already in .cnf)

True. You cannot give the user 3MB of binaries with 200 files and no docs. She will not even find the link to the wiki or whatever as long as this is not on the very same website that the binary was downloaded from.

Unless there is a foolproof installer that does everything.

Imagine there may also be people without internet at all.
