I've committed no fixes today or yesterday, it was merely a case of updating your copy of TOSWIN2.
He said he only updated the kernel and it worked already (with the ln), which didn't before. So he used an old kernel, despite my repeated asking for using the latest one. Please read my posts! It also works with an ancient toswin 2.6, I cannot imagine there was a bug in toswin 2.7 or mintlib that caused this and has been fixed meanwhile.
