Yes, that piece was a bug fix. i.e. the __LINE__ patch and is fine, but there were two other hunks at the top of the patch which are "cosmetic" and never appeared in the trunk commit of Helmut's. It only appeared in the stable branch. Ouch.
Ok - that is part of the gcc2.95-compileable stuff, so I thought it's better to mix it in.
But for sure that's not the reason for cvs to run crazy! -Helmut
