What if the user has an eiffel but does not want this special-key-interpretation?
The special-key-interpretation is inside the OS (XaAES or other), so if
the user does not want to interpret special keys, there must be some
option in the OS.
Or change the Eiffel behavior using the control panel:
http://didierm.pagesperso-orange.fr/eiffel-e.htm
Is the eiffel-configuration detectable?
Not sure.
Look at the blue tables on the page above.
There are PROGKB/PROGMS commands, but nothing to read the key configuration.
Anyway, as you, Helmut, proposed at first, moving EIFFEL_SUPPORT to
xaaes.cnf would be perfect for everyone, before a cleaner solution
involving the VDI is found.
