No, not here because the lack the same font problems - and I have never seen an redraw of the font within xfontsel ( on freemint ). Also the pop-up menu height is fck'd up... just showing an single item... maybe... X11 is confused by wide screen? Hm....
Btw. application default can be set within /etc/X11/app-defaults/progname ( not visible by default with Xaaes file selector, because *.* is the default mask).
For Xcalc one "fix" is to set the lcd panel height a bit higher (within app defaults)... so there is enough room for the font - maybe it's more an clipping problem than an font problem.... hmmm...
