This looks like the 64-bit problem discovered by Maanke and fixed by MiKRO. Are the MacOS X binaries from Philipp 64-bit ?In that case, you can very easily rebuild the mintbin package yourself. It is just a matter of configure and make. You can get the fixed sources and the detailed build script on my page.
