I beg to differ. Atleast on my Milan it's a very noticable difference between a writeable and write-protected xa_boot.log. But noticable and significant is not the same :)

But I support the idea to make xa_boot.log optional. It's mostly useless, and if you don't know the writeprotect-trick it will grow indefinitely.
