Has anyone built this version or one newer than the rpm ?

Alan's gentoo distribution (http://gentoo.atariforge.org) has version 3
.0.7.
I've never used it though, so I can't tell you if it works any better.

Thanks I couldn't find it there a few days ago.

I tried that version but it eventually stalls as well:

rasn.202/data/samples.lzh
rasn.202/english/
rasn.202/english/locale.lzh
rsync error: received SIGINT, SIGTERM, or SIGHUP (code 20) at rsync.c(544) [sender=3.0.6]
I checked that line (544) and it basically suggests you are hitting CTRL+C and terminating rsync. 

I'm not sure which shell you are using but maybe that's causing an issue.
