My initial question was if such line feeds were intentional.
I still don't know if it was, but for sure this has become a de facto 
standard.

Of course, reverting the change for /kern/sysdir is a good thing.
But please add a comment in the code to indicate that the missing \n is 
a feature, not a bug.
