I guess it would require lots of changes in the code to have menus clipped
correctly and it could be confusing to the user so I'll revert this
experimental stuff.

GEMClip does, but only one of them has a menubar.

Yes, the config-dialog! I had to change it - originally the app would be topped, but that does not help when it's already top but not the menu-window. Should be ok now, have to commit later.
