This is because in snapshot-versions the default is write to xa_boot.log  
as before. In the release the default will be 0 (don't write). So up to  
the point where the cnf is loaded it will be as before in the snapshot.

I cannot reproduce it. What's in the bootlog? ;)

There is one issue though: I entered toswin 2.7 to xaaes.cnf, configured  
it to not open any window, and was not able to top it from the desk-menu,  
but no bus-error.
