Pff.. thanks, Alan. I hope it will be fixed in 2.24 or 2.23.2 .. so for
all the others: use binutils-2.21 (at least as far as ranlib and ar is
concerned).

Alan, do you know any patch that can be applied to fix that?
I don't even know if this has been fixed in the official binutils sources.
binutils 2.23.1 will be released very soon. It would be nice if that bug
could be officially fixed.
