[MiNT] CD/DVD drives

I have a suggestion for an enhancement for a minor irritation.

When C:\ is opened there is a short delay and the window appears
on the desktop. As you would expect it doesn't normally time-out.

If a CD/DVD drive is opened there can be a long delay before the
drive is ready and in this situation it can time-out and there
is an error. I assume this error isn't coming from the desktop
but I could be wrong.

Is there any way that the OS can allow more time for removable drives
to respond ?

Maybe the OS could simply allow more time for certain drives that have
been detected during boot-up.

Do CD/DVD devices send messages to say that they are available and
just waiting for the disc to spin-up ?
