It's been a long time ago but isn't the FreeMiNT ram disk (/ram)
actually self managing? I.e. it is as big as your free RAM is, growing
as needed. This is how I remember using it.

It will show you the available size of the ramdisk on the U: drive. Mine
shows this....

Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
u:/ 387616 8 387608 1% u:/

Of course it is self managing. But some programs seem to not be able to
use it correctly. So even does Thing! 1.29. It always reports the recent
size of already stored files, but not a single byte more, at last here at
my computer.

So perhaps it is a FireBee issue, or just some dirty programs? But I would
need a solution for real day to day work.

What can be done?


Fix the application ? Report it as a Thing bug ?
