There is a README in sys/xdd/audio which describes the functions.
Some (long) time ago I tried to enhance it for more compatibility, and
play .snd and .au-formats directly without having to set any parameters
before on as many platforms as possible but never got to a really stable
version. Main problem was that TimerA sometimes wasn't available or I
didn't do it right.
For example you can copy a .snd-file onto /dev/audio and it would play the
file (in thing drop it to the audio-icon).
