Do you really mean XHDI or fVDI? If its' fVDI, and it is the vwk address, then 
that address is sometimes deliberately set to an odd value by fVDI when 
requesting extended features.

If it's XHDI, then i think FreeMint shouldn't do that. Maybe some bad design 
of a structure declared as packed? Although i currently can not see a hint on 
that.
