great, as documentation is always great. but who's this Johnnie and what
kind of new mint distribution is he making? has it to do with the
upgrading to MiNTlib PL48? will it be somehow like the debian-linux
effort? (sorry for this, but i'm new to the mailing-list and haven't read
anough yet:)

i agree. and will this docu contain some guidelines as to what directory
structure is prefered and what compile time options? so that we end up
with a more uniform system and an increase in likelihood that upgrading to
new releases will be easy? (someone else even proposed to use the old
linux package handler, we could as wel use their directory structure to)
